Summary: Infinite IEP Pro helps special education teachers prepare CA/TX rule-aware IEP drafts and run a limited AI-assisted document checklist. Student names and IEP drafts are not persisted by default. BYOK API keys remain in memory, but BYOK does not by itself establish FERPA or district approval.

2. Scope
Applies to the Infinite IEP Pro Chrome extension, its license service, and related pages on infinitebytelab.com. A hosted content proxy is not included in the current extension package and would require separate terms and disclosures before use.
3. Products in the Infinite IEP family

4. Information we collect
We do not collect or sell student personal information on our servers in standard BYOK deployment.
Stored locally on your device by default:
- AI provider and model preferences
- Last selected state (CA, TX, or Federal)
- License session token, install id, and cached Pro entitlement timestamps
Student names and IEP draft text are not persisted by default. Version 2.2.1 removes legacy locally stored draft fields when the extension starts.
API keys: Not persisted. Session memory only.
If you register for Pro trial / promote sharing, our license service stores:
- Email address
- Your promote code and (optional) a colleague’s code you entered
- Install identifier, paid/trial expiry, and promote activation counts
Student IEP content is not sent to the license service.
5. Hosted API proxy
The current public extension package does not send IEP content through an Infinite Byte Lab hosted proxy. Any future district-hosted or operator-hosted proxy deployment requires separate data-flow disclosure, processor terms, retention settings, security controls, district approval, and an applicable data processing agreement before activation.
6. Information sent to AI providers
When selected by the user, prompts and reviewed input are sent directly to Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic under the user's account, or to local Ollama on the user's device. Provider retention, training, and security depend on the applicable account and provider terms. We do not use content to train our own models.
7. Pre-send identifier review
The extension applies automated redaction and requires the educator to review and confirm the exact text before each request. This reduces risk but does not guarantee FERPA/IDEA de-identification; indirect identifiers and combinations of facts may still identify a student.
8. FERPA and student data
- The extension provides unverified drafts and selected document checks; it does not determine legal compliance, FAPE, procedure, implementation, or educational appropriateness.
- Use requires district approval and an authorized disclosure basis. BYOK and browser-direct transmission do not by themselves satisfy FERPA or IDEA confidentiality requirements.
- Where the school-official exception is used, the school must establish direct control, authorized-purpose and re-disclosure limits, and consistency with its annual FERPA notice.
- Behavior-support drafts exclude restraint, seclusion, time-out, emergency, and crisis-response instructions and require qualified local review.
9. Children’s privacy (COPPA)
For adult educators. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 through the extension.
10. Analytics
No third-party analytics SDKs in the extension. This site may use standard hosting logs.
11. Data retention and deletion
- Use “Clear All Local Data,” uninstall the extension, or clear extension storage to remove local preferences and cached license data.
- Student names and IEP drafts are not retained in extension local storage by default.
- AI-provider retention is governed by the selected provider, account settings, and applicable agreement.
12. International users
Designed for U.S. special education workflows. Users elsewhere must comply with local law.
13. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change when we do.
