Summary: Infinite IEP (Free) helps special education teachers draft IEP goals and PLAAFP statements. We do not operate servers that store your student data. Text you enter is sent directly to the AI provider you choose. API keys are kept in memory for your browser session only and are never saved to disk.
1. Who we are
This extension is operated by Infinite Byte Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Contact: support@infinitebytelab.com
2. Scope
This policy applies to the Infinite IEP Chrome extension (Free edition) and related pages on infinitebytelab.com. It does not apply to third-party AI providers or your school district’s IEP systems.
3. Information we collect
We do not collect, store, or sell personal information on our servers. The extension runs locally in your browser:
- Preferences — AI provider, model name, Ollama URL (Chrome local storage)
- Draft text — Optional notes you save locally
- API keys — Not stored; session memory only
4. Information sent to third parties
When you click Generate, prompts are sent to the provider you select:
- Google Gemini — Terms
- OpenAI — Privacy Policy
- Anthropic — Privacy Policy
- Local Ollama — stays on your machine
We do not intercept or retain these requests. Your relationship with the AI provider is governed by their terms.
5. PII scrubbing
Paste-time scrubbing attempts to replace names and pronouns with “the student.” This is an aid, not a guarantee. You are responsible for FERPA and district policy compliance.
6. Student data and FERPA
- Do not enter identifiable student information unless your district has approved the AI provider.
- Intended for educators, not students.
- We are not a “school official” under FERPA for the Free BYOK model.
- Always review AI output before filing.
7. Children’s privacy (COPPA)
Designed for adult educators. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Analytics and cookies
The extension does not use analytics SDKs. This website may use standard hosting logs (e.g., Cloudflare Pages).
9. Data retention and deletion
- Uninstall the extension or clear extension storage to remove local data.
- API keys clear when the browser session ends.
- AI provider retention is controlled by your provider account.
10. Security
No cloud database for Free BYOK; session-only keys; browser-to-provider communication. Use district-approved providers.
11. Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the effective date above.
